Visiting a chilly and not-very-bike-friendly city within Rhode Island last week really made me miss Arizona.
It was not only for Arizona’s balmy weather, but also the beauty of the surroundings. On the evenings that I am able to leave work while the sun is still shining, I just cannot get over the breathtaking views.
The city is surrounded by mountain ranges, yet the riding terrain is conveniently flat and separated from cars. In the absence of hills, the commute seems effortless.
I can never tire of the shrubbery that seems to be unique to this climate.
Even after the sun has set, bright lights and succulent plants make for an interesting ride home.
For me, the weather, ease at which I can get around by bicycle, the magnificent views and interesting foliage make it easy for me to get on my bicycle every day.
What makes your bike commute unique and interesting?
