The bicycle is a great way to have a cheap/free date. For that reason, the dude and I took advantage of this perfectly sunny day to go on a bike ride around Piedmont Park. Just a slow ride without a real destination.
It was only 50 degrees outside; therefore, I was burning up under my four layers (leotard, dress, cardigan, and wool wrap). Not to mention, I was wearing two pairs of tights. Leotard and tights? Yes, I had just returned from ballet class. Some would consider ‘exercising’ after a ballet class overly ambitious, but I don’t consider this kind of cycling to be ‘exercise.’

When I ride around the park, where cars are nowhere to be found, it makes me yearn for a car-free lifestyle. I only wish that transportation by bicycle was really this safe and simple. No cars–just bicycles and pedestrians. Although I’m not car-free, I try to be car light, and that seems to work for now. Living in a car-free city, however, would be simply amazing. A girl can dream…
